- Located in southeastern Georgia, 58 km (36 mi) north of Jacksonville, Florida, and 135 km (84 mi) south southwest of Savannah. Boundary on the south is Florida and on the east is the Atlantic Ocean; County Seat: Woodbine.
- Originally organized in 1765 as the Saint Thomas' Parish and Saint Mary Parish. Created on 5 February 1777; named for Sir Charles Pratt, Earl of Camden (1714-1794), Chief Justice and Lord Chancellor of England, who supported the rights of the American colonies. (GA-T21/p33)
