- This cemetery appears to have minimal care and is in fair shape. There is no longer a church at this location. The cemetery gate states 'Scandia Baptist Cemetery 1855 - 1955'. Most of the cemeteries fencing has been removed. The cemetery is across the street from Island View Country Club.
In "History of the Minnesota Valley" [1882] by Rev. Edward D. Neill, he wrote: ‘... A cemetery was established on land deeded by Andrew Bergquist in section 18, a few rods east of the church. The first person buried in it was Peter Swenson, of Waconia, buried in 1859 (page 379).'
This cemeteries burial monuments were transcribed during the spring of 1998.
