What's New on Histopolis - Q2 2013

We are actively improving and expanding the site. Here are some of the recent changes:

Place Navigation Bar. Clicking an item in the place navigation bar now displays the drop-down list if places within that place instead of navigating to the place page for that place. To navigate to the corresponding place page, double-click the item in the place navigation bar.

Places that do not contain other places are now indicated by the symbol to the left of the place name in a place drop-down menu. Clicking on the name of one of those places will now immediately navigate to the corresponding place page. Previously the place navigation bar would update to include the place and it was necessary to click on the place name in the navigation bar to navigate to it.

Implemented several minor improvements and fixes.

Google Maps Version 3. The version of the Google Maps mapping infrastructure used by Histopolis was upgraded to Version 3. Version 3 adds several new capbilities including 45-degree views and smoother panning and zooming. See the Help on the Place Map Tab for additional information.

Map Scale Added the map scale indicator back to the maps (broken in 1.5.0).
Add Cemetery Upgraded the map in the Add Cemetery wizard to Google Maps Version 3.
"No imagery here" In some cases, the message "Sorry, we have no imagery here." was displayed on the map at the initial zoom level. Now the map will automatically zoom out to the first level where imagery exists.
Add Cemetery Fixed a redirect loop that could occur if you added a cemetery and then immediately navigated to that cemetery.
