What's New
What's New on Histopolis - Q3 2012
Here are some of the changes over the last 12 months that were not previously listed in "What's New":
-
Cemetery sections. Histopolis now support sections within cemeteries as places. This is particularly useful for large cemeteries. Grave listing in veterans cemeteries that specify the section are now listed under that section in addition to be listed under the cemetery. See Los Angeles National Cemetery or Arlington National Cemetery for examples of cemeteries with sections defined (enable the "Cemetery Subdivisions" map layer).
The ability to add sections to a cemetery is not yet generally available. If you would like to add sections to a cemetery please contact the webmaster for additional information.
-
Cemetery additions. Cemetery additions are now immediately available rather than requiring review and approval before being added to the site.
-
Many miscellaneous fixes and improvements.

-
Faster place page loading. Place pages now load faster due to improvements in data retrieval.
-
Cemetery section labeling. Cemetery sections are now labeled on the map with a text label instead of a push-pin. See Los Angeles National Cemetery or Arlington National Cemetery for examples of cemeteries with sections defined (enable the "Cemetery Subdivisions" map layer).
-
Cemetery boundary drawing precision. The drawing precision for cemetery boundaries has been improved. It may take a few weeks for all cemeteries with boundaries to display with the improved precision.
