- population 102, on Tanana River, 12 mi. NW of Tok; Yukon-Tanana High.
- this village originated as a telegraph station, called "Tanana Crossing," where the telegraph lines crossed the river. the telegraph was dismantled, it remained a village, and, upon the recommendation of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), in 1932 the name was contracted to Tanacross. Saint Timothys. 1934 (Ricks, 1965, p. 55).
