- Located in southern Georgia along a small portion of the boundary with Florida, 135 km (84 mi) southeast of Albany; County Seat: Homerville.
- Created on 14 February 1850; named in honor of General Duncan Lamont Clinch (1784-1849) of North Carolina, who served in the War of 1812 and the Indian Wars between 1836 and 1838. He was elected to Congress in 1844. (OH-T801/p47)
